Despicable Me

Young Gru, featured primarily in Minions: The Rise of Gru, is the adolescent version of the infamous supervillain, Gru. Living in the suburbs of 1970s, he dreams of joining the Vicious 6, a notorious group of supervillains.

At age 11, Gru possesses many of the traits that define his adult self: ambition, a penchant for elaborate schemes, and a deep desire to be recognized for his villainous potential. He already has a laboratory in his basement and is experimenting with inventions, often with the assistance of his loyal and devoted Minions.

Lacking physical strength, Young Gru compensates with cunning, technology, and strategic thinking. While still a child, his burgeoning intellect and determination set him on the path to becoming the supervillain audiences know from the Despicable Me franchise. His interactions with the Minions are also key to understanding his future character, showcasing his capacity for leadership and, occasionally, even affection.
